Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has submitted the names of 16 individuals for confirmation as commissioners in his cabinet.
The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Danladi Jatau, revealed this during the Assembly’s proceedings in Lafia, the state capital, on Monday.
Jatau announced that the nominees would need to submit 30 copies of their Curriculum Vitae (CV) to the House by Thursday this week and appear for screening the following Monday.
The governor’s list of appointees includes notable figures such as Yakubu Kwanta from Akwanga Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Tanko Tunga from Awe LGA, and Hajiya Munirat Abdullahi and Gabriel Agbashi from Doma LGA. Other nominees are Isaac Danladi Amadu from Karu LGA, Princess Margret Itaki Elayo from Keana LGA, and Dr. Ibrahim Tanko from Keffi LGA.
Additional nominees include Dr. John DW Mamman from Kokona LGA, Hon. Aminu Mu’azu Maifata and CP Usman Baba (Rtd) from Lafia LGA, Hon. Mohammed Sani Ottos from Nasarawa LGA, and Hon. Mohammed Agah Muluku from Nassarawa Eggon LGA. Other nominees are Mr. David Moyi from Obi LGA, Dr. Gaza Gwamna from Toto LGA, and Barr. Judbo Hauwa Samuel and Hon. Muazu Gosho from Wamba LGA.
Governor Sule had dissolved the State Executive Council on January 3, 2024. Among the 16 nominees are two former state lawmakers and six former commissioners. Three of the appointees are women.
The nominees’ screening is expected to take place next Monday, following the submission of their CVs.
