Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State on Monday carried out a reshuffle of the State Executive Council to strengthen the administration’s efforts in achieving the goals of its ‘Building Your Future’ agenda. The changes, announced in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, are aimed at improving the state’s governance and service delivery.
Among the key changes, Alhaji Malik Anas was appointed as the new Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning. Anas, who holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Bayero University in Kano, has previously served as the Katsina State Accountant-General and is a member of several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.
Alhaji Bello Kagara, the former Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, has now been reassigned to the Ministry of Finance, while Alhaji Bashir Tanimu, who previously headed the Finance Ministry, will now lead the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
In another move, Alhaji Yusuf Rabi’u-Jirdede has been shifted from the Ministry of Special Duties to the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment. Alhaji Adnan Nahabu, who was overseeing the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Investment, has been moved to the Ministry of Special Duties.
Governor Radda has tasked the newly appointed and reassigned commissioners with ensuring excellent service delivery in line with the administration’s vision. Specifically, he urged Alhaji Malik Anas to align the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning’s objectives with the broader ‘Building Your Future’ agenda. The governor also emphasized the need for all commissioners to redouble their efforts in serving the people of Katsina State.
