Governor Fintiri Issues Stern Warning to Appointees Over 2027 Ambitions

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has issued a stern warning to his appointees, directing them to refrain from campaigning for any elective office in the upcoming 2027 elections. Fintiri stressed that their primary responsibility at this time is to deliver on the expectations of their current positions, and failure to focus on governance could lead to their dismissal.

The governor made these remarks on Tuesday during the 2024 end-of-year stakeholders meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Government House in Yola. He emphasized that his focus remains on serving the people of Adamawa State, rather than catering to the interests of a few individuals.

Fintiri outlined that his agenda for 2025 and beyond is centered on service delivery, and he urged his appointees to prioritize governance over politics. “It is still time to focus on governance and delivery of services and projects rather than politicking,” he asserted. He added that any appointee who persists in seeking political popularity for personal gain should either resign from their post or face possible dismissal.

The PDP Stakeholders meeting, which was attended by Deputy Governor Kaletapwa Farauta, the three senators representing Adamawa, the state House of Assembly speaker, as well as all PDP assembly members and executive cabinet commissioners, was an opportunity for Fintiri to reinforce his commitment to the people of Adamawa. He made it clear that his administration’s focus will remain on the development and progress of the state.
