Governor Lawal Approves 13th-Month Salary for Zamfara Workers
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the payment of a 13th-month salary to the state’s civil and public servants. This announcement, made in a circular issued on December 28, 2024, by the Zamfara State Head of Service, highlights the government’s commitment to supporting workers.
According to a statement from the Governor’s spokesperson, Suleiman Bala Idris, the 13th-month salary will be a bonus of 30 percent of the employees’ basic salary. This is the second time such a payment has been made in the state’s history, with the first being implemented by Lawal’s administration in December of the previous year.
The 13th-month salary aims to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of Zamfara’s workforce, offering additional financial support during the festive season. It is part of a series of initiatives intended to empower workers and stimulate economic growth in the state.
In addition to this bonus, the Lawal administration has made notable strides, including clearing over N10 billion in unpaid gratuities from the past 11 years, approving a new minimum wage of N70,000, and ensuring that workers’ salaries are paid promptly.
