Governor Seyi Makinde has officially presented the Staff of Office to the newly appointed Alaafin of Oyo, Abimbola Owoade, marking a significant moment in the leadership of the Oyo Kingdom. The presentation took place at the governor’s office in Ibadan, the state capital, on Monday.
Earlier reports from the media had confirmed that Prince Owoade was set to receive both his appointment letter and Staff of Office on the same day. A top government source had stated, “Prince Owoade is in town. He will get a letter of appointment from the state government tomorrow (Monday) so that he can resume work as Alaafin.”
Governor Makinde had officially approved Owoade’s appointment, as confirmed in a statement released by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, on Friday. Owoade’s emergence as the new Alaafin of Oyo has already been welcomed by prominent figures, with some calling it a blessing for the kingdom.
