Governor Monday Okpebholo Swears In Six New Commissioners, Assigns Portfolios
On Tuesday, Governor Monday Okpebholo swore in six new commissioners into the Edo State Executive Council and officially assigned them their respective portfolios. The announcement was made in a statement issued by Umar Ikhilor, the Secretary to the State Government, in Benin.
According to the statement, the new commissioners are Paul Ohonbamu, who will oversee the Ministry of Information and Communications; Washington Osifo, appointed to lead the Ministry of Water Resources and Energy; and Emmanuel Iyamu, who will serve as the Education Commissioner.
Other appointments include Lucky Eseigbe, who will head the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Andrew Ijegbai, who is assigned to the Ministry of Mining, and Olabisi Idaomi, who will lead the Ministry of Women’s Affairs and Social Development. These new appointments are expected to bring fresh perspectives and leadership to key areas of governance in the state.
