Governor Nasir Idris Paves the Way for a Modern GRA in Kawara Village
The Kebbi State government has unveiled a groundbreaking plan to develop a modern Government Reservation Area (GRA) in Kawara village, located on the southeastern edge of Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.
Governor Nasir Idris, accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Lands and Housing, as well as the Secretary to the State Government, recently visited the proposed site for the new development.
During the visit, TPL Abubakar Ahmed, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, presented the master layout for the new GRA. He emphasized that this ambitious project would not only expand the geographical boundaries of Birnin Kebbi but also address housing shortages and generate additional revenue streams for the state.
Governor Idris expressed his appreciation for the initiative, calling it a visionary step forward. He praised the ministry for their foresight in planning the GRA, noting that the project would lay the foundation for a transformed cityscape and provide long-term benefits to future generations.
The governor further highlighted that the new GRA would significantly enhance the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), contributing to economic growth while simultaneously improving the quality of life for residents.
Once the state government finalizes the approval and award of the construction contract, work on the project is expected to begin, setting the stage for a significant urban development that will reshape the region.
