Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has made a resolute statement declaring that his administration will not entertain any negotiations with criminals who have previously wreaked havoc in the state. Speaking during two separate church services at The Master’s Vessel Church in Umuahia North and Power World Ministry Int’l in Umuahia on Sunday, Governor Otti condemned the criminal elements in the state, though he refrained from naming them directly. He explained that these individuals, after their attempts to lobby for negotiations and inclusion in the government failed, had resorted to spreading falsehoods and engaging in blackmail against his administration.
“They attack us, thinking we would negotiate with them. But let me be clear: we are doing nothing wrong. Our government is based on integrity, and we will never negotiate with criminals,” Otti asserted firmly.
The governor emphasized that his administration is focused on restoring the values of hard work and contentment in the state, with the goal of creating an environment that allows citizens to pursue decent livelihoods with pride in their work and businesses. Governor Otti also highlighted one of the key achievements of his administration—the introduction of free and compulsory education at the basic and secondary levels. This initiative has led to a significant increase in school enrollments, putting additional strain on the already poor and under-equipped educational facilities in the state.
In his address, Otti reiterated that his government’s priority remains the betterment of Abia State, working tirelessly to ensure that the people have opportunities to succeed while keeping criminals at bay.
