Group trains traumatised Borno women, disburses cash support

 

 

 

Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development (ALFOPED), a non-governmental organization, has trained 30 selected members of Early/ Forced Marriage  Women Group and Mothers of Invisible Children on psycho-social support and confidence  building.

The two-day training workshop was held at the Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development  office, Giwa Barracks area, Maiduguri, between the 16th and 17th of January, 2023 and  had training on counselling, income generation activities, financial support and entrepreneurship types, methods, strategies and prospects among others.

In her welcome address, the Executive Director of Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, Hajiya Hamsatu Allamin, thanked the participants for their efforts and commitments while stressing that they were lucky to be among the beneficiaries of the training programme.

Represented by Allamin Foundation Gender Officer, Hajiya Falmata Musa, Hajiya Allamin said the training was organised to orientate, educate and enlighten the participants with useful information on psycho social and business support with the aim of making them entrepreneurs and self-reliant income earners.

She added that as independent women and entrepreneurs, they could take care of themselves, their children and families as well as others without necessarily stressing anyone or their loved ones to tackle the biting economic hardship and suffering.
