Guinness World Records disqualifies Ghanaian chef’s 227-hour cook-a-thon
Guinness World Records, GWR, has dismissed Ghanaian chef Faila Abdul-Razak’s attempt to set a new record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
Faila commenced a 10 days cook-a-thon on January 1st 2024, at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.
Faila cooked for 227 hours to break the 119 hours and 57 minutes record set by Irish chef, Alan Fisher who dethroned Nigerian Hilda Baci’s record of 93 hours and 11 minutes.
However, updating her followers on Monday, Faila’s coordinator, Kafui Dey, announced that “a statement from the Records Management Team cited a violation of the rest break rules, resulting in an unsuccessful attempt”.
While appreciating her fans in spite of the setback, Chef Faila noted that she doesn’t take their important role in her path for granted.
