Izuagbe Warns Against Negotiating with Bello Turji: A Killer, Not a Common Criminal
Abdulsalam Suleiman Izuagbe, a senior consultant and public affairs analyst, has proposed a bold strategy for President Bola Tinubu to ensure the elimination of notorious bandit leader, Turji Bello. Izuagbe suggests that offering Nigerian Army troops a double promotion incentive will motivate them to take decisive action against the criminal mastermind.
This comes as Nigerian forces intensify their operations against Bello and other criminal groups in the Northeast. Izuagbe stressed the importance of eliminating Bello without considering negotiations, warning that any talks would be dangerous for Nigeria’s security.
Izuagbe: Nigeria’s Army Will End Turji Bello’s Reign with a Double Promotion Incentive
Izuagbe believes that the Nigerian Army can end the threat posed by Bello Turji in a matter of weeks if they are offered the right incentives. According to him, a promise of double promotions to any soldier who captures or eliminates Turji and his followers would give troops the added motivation needed to swiftly bring down the bandit leader. He argues that this would ensure a rapid end to Bello’s reign of terror.
The analyst also criticized efforts to negotiate with Turji, calling such talks unacceptable for a man responsible for countless atrocities.
Izuagbe Warns Against Negotiating with Bello Turji: A Killer, Not a Common Criminal
Izuagbe condemned any potential negotiations with Turji, labeling him as a ruthless killer and terrorist. He emphasized that someone like Bello Turji, known for gruesome acts of violence, including slaughtering innocent children, should never be treated like a common criminal. In his view, the government’s focus should be on eliminating him rather than entertaining discussions that could undermine Nigeria’s security.
He also highlighted that Turji’s criminal empire extends beyond just banditry, with reports of him extorting money from farmers in various states and severely affecting local food production.
Public Affairs Analyst Calls for Urgent Action on Bello Turji, Demands No Negotiations
Izuagbe argued that Turji’s actions—such as murdering a district head for failing to bring a bribe—demonstrate the extreme threat he poses to national stability. He warned that negotiations with a man who has caused such widespread harm would send the wrong message to both Nigerians and the world. If the Nigerian government is unwilling to negotiate with figures like Nnamdi Kanu, who Izuagbe believes has not committed such extreme acts of violence, then there should be no room for dialogue with someone like Turji.
He further called for the government to prioritize capturing or eliminating Turji, ensuring that those involved in the operation are adequately rewarded with promotions.
