“Jigawa Invests Over N132 Million in CNG Vehicle Conversion Training Center”

The Jigawa State Government has invested more than N132 million in establishing a training center dedicated to converting vehicles from petrol to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Dutse. This initiative was revealed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power and Energy, Engineer Musa Al’assan Arobade, during the launch of a “Train-the-Trainers” workshop on CNG vehicle conversion, which took place at the ministry’s conference hall.

Al’assan announced that the state government would soon award contracts for the conversion of 25 vehicles from petrol to CNG as part of its efforts to promote cleaner energy alternatives. This move is in line with the government’s broader objective of fostering the use of sustainable energy sources.

He further explained that the state government would sponsor the training of 20 individuals in vehicle conversion techniques, with the trainees to be selected from the Ministry of Power and Energy and the Jigawa State chapter of the Association of Automobile Technicians.

This initiative is aimed at enhancing the state’s energy security, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and contributing to economic growth by increasing access to renewable energy solutions. By promoting CNG as a viable alternative, the Jigawa State Government is taking a significant step toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.
