Just in : Abia PDP Rep defects to APC
A member of the House of Representatives, representing Ukwa East/West of Abia State, Chris Nkwonta has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP to the All Progressive Congress (APC).
This was announced on the floor of the House during plenary by the Speaker Tajudeen Abbas on Wednesday in Abuja.
Reacting to the defection the Deputy Minority Leader Aliyu Madaki quoting section of the constitution called that Nwonta’s seat be declared vacant.
In response the Speaker told Madaki that he is aware of a faction in PDP.
