“Kano Police Take Action Against Planned Violence, Arrest 17 Thugs”
The Kano State Police Command has apprehended 17 individuals suspected of planning to instigate a violent protest in the state capital. The arrests, which occurred on Wednesday, followed credible intelligence reports and were made in collaboration with other security agencies, according to a statement from the command’s spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna.
Haruna explained that personnel and resources from various security agencies were strategically deployed across the Kano metropolis to prevent any potential disruptions to law and order. The police remain committed to ensuring that those behind the plot are brought to justice.
As a result of these coordinated efforts, 17 suspected thugs were arrested. The police have confirmed that an investigation is ongoing into the matter.
The police have issued a warning to residents against engaging in unlawful gatherings, processions, or any actions that could threaten public peace. They vowed to take decisive action against any attempts to incite violence. Haruna also urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
