“Kidnappers Strike in Adamawa: Four Abducted in Midnight Raid”
Gunmen have abducted four individuals from Mayokila Village in Mapeo District, Jada Local Government Area (LGA) of Adamawa State. The incident occurred in the early hours of February 17, 2025, and was confirmed by the Adamawa Police Command, which has since vowed to track down the abductors and secure the release of the victims.
According to Police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, launched a violent attack on the community at approximately 1:30 AM. They stormed the village, firing sporadically to instill fear and successfully abducted one Abubakar Sadiq Umar, a staff member at Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital in Yola, along with three other individuals.
Following a distress call received at around 3:30 AM, the Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, quickly mobilized operational forces to support the Divisional Police Officer of Kojoli Division in a tactical search-and-rescue mission.
Nguroje assured that the Police Command was fully committed to rescuing the abducted victims safely and apprehending those responsible for the crime, emphasizing that efforts were intensifying to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
