Kogi Governor Promises Free Health Insurance for Spouses of Fallen Soldiers
In honor of this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day, Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has pledged to provide free health insurance coverage for the spouses of Nigerian soldiers who lost their lives on the battlefield. Speaking at the Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony in Lokoja on Wednesday, Governor Ododo emphasized that this commitment was not just a promise but a concrete effort by his administration to offer support to the families of Nigeria’s fallen heroes residing in Kogi State.
“This is not just a statement or a promise, but a deliberate effort by my administration to provide relief for the families of fallen heroes living in Kogi State. I will adhere to this commitment religiously,” Governor Ododo assured.
He further assured that the sacrifices of the fallen soldiers would not be forgotten and called on well-meaning individuals to join in supporting the families of the deceased. The governor reminded the public that caring for the families of fallen heroes is a shared responsibility, not one for the government alone.
“I want to assure the families of our fallen heroes that their sacrifices will not be in vain. I urge the people to continue supporting these families, as their upkeep is not just the government’s responsibility,” he said.
Governor Ododo expressed gratitude for the courage of the soldiers who paid the ultimate price to protect Nigeria’s sovereignty, noting that their bravery serves as a reminder of the values that unite the nation.
