Lagos Police Commissioner Declares War on Crime: “Repent or Leave the State”
The newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Lagos State, CP Moshood Jimoh, has sent a stern warning to criminals operating in the state, urging them to either repent or leave. This strong message was delivered during his inaugural press briefing, following his appointment as the 41st Commissioner of Police at the Lagos Police Command headquarters.
CP Jimoh emphasized that the Lagos State Police Command would spare no effort in addressing crimes such as armed robbery, traffic robberies, cultism, and other violent offenses. He warned criminals that the state would become “too hot” for them to operate.
“The Lagos State Police Command will leave no stone unturned in tackling these crimes. Criminals are strongly advised to abandon their ways or leave Lagos,” he declared. “We will implement innovative crime prevention strategies to curb violent crimes and swiftly detect criminal activities. Using intelligence and crime mapping tools, we will proactively address emerging security threats and ensure public peace and order are maintained.”
The new Commissioner made it clear that the full force of the law would be applied to those engaged in criminal activities. “Moving forward, Lagos will be a no-go area for criminals and their associates,” he warned.
In addition, CP Jimoh assured Lagos residents of a more proactive, intelligence-driven approach to policing. He stated, “Our goal is to ensure that law-abiding citizens and businesses—whether local or multinational—can go about their daily activities peacefully. We will work tirelessly to protect investments, both governmental and private.”
He also stressed that under his leadership, human rights violations would not be tolerated. “Our approach will emphasize professionalism, respect for human dignity, and adherence to the rule of law,” Jimoh affirmed. “All police personnel have been instructed to be civil, polite, and firm in carrying out their duties.”
With a clear focus on strengthening the safety and security of Lagos, CP Jimoh’s leadership promises a tougher, more disciplined approach to law enforcement in the state.
