Lere Olayinka Demands Six-Month NDLEA Drug Testing for Isaac Fayose

The ongoing legal dispute between media aide Lere Olayinka and Isaac Fayose, younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has taken an intense twist as Olayinka demands that Fayose submit to drug testing by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for six months.

In Suit No. FCT/HC/GAR/CV/157/2025 filed at the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Olayinka—Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the FCT—challenged Fayose to undergo drug tests twice monthly at the NDLEA’s expense, with Olayinka volunteering to cover the costs.

Court documents reveal that Olayinka’s demand stems from various claims and media reports aimed at portraying Fayose as being under the influence of drugs. Olayinka pointed to a video Fayose posted on October 11, 2024, declaring himself the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and suspending key members like Atiku Abubakar and Nyesom Wike—reports that were widely covered by Daily Post and New Telegraph.

Further, Olayinka referenced a retracted kidnapping claim made by Fayose on August 29, 2022. The incident was reported by PMNews Nigeria and Independent.ng, with both police and Fayose admitting the story was fabricated.

“These actions are strong indicators that the claimant is under the influence of drugs,” Olayinka alleged.

Defending his position, Olayinka argued that while Fayose accuses him of defamation, his role is to protect the reputation of his principal, the FCT Minister. He added that Fayose’s alleged fabrications and erratic public behavior mean he “has no image to protect.”

The suit is ongoing, with both parties preparing to present their cases in court.
