Many feared dead as trailer crushes bus in Abia

A trailer has reportedly crushed an 18-passenger bus along the Umuahia-Enugu axis of the Port Harcourt Enugu Highway early Thursday, The Nation reports.

While the casualties haven’t been confirmed, the truck driver was said to have lost control before ramming into the bus at a police checkpoint around the Lokpanta area of Abia State.

When contacted via the telephone by our correspondent, the State Public Relations Officer, ASP Chinaka Maureen said, “I’ll get back to you on that. They called me already. I’m on it.”
