Minister Mohammed Idris Secures 30 Federal Appointments for Niger State, Launches Key Projects
The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has revealed that he has facilitated over 30 federal appointments for Niger State indigenes since his appointment. Idris made this known while responding to a complaint from a traditional ruler in his constituency, who accused him of not securing any federal appointments for his people.
In his defense, Idris pointed out that, since assuming office as minister, he had successfully secured appointments such as that of Jibrin Baba Ndace as Director General of the Voice of Nigeria, in addition to other key federal appointments for Niger State citizens. “I facilitated over 30 federal appointments for citizens of the state since I became minister,” he stated.
The minister also emphasized his commitment to fostering peace and unity in his community through religious education. He revealed that he had undertaken the construction of an Islamiyya school and a mosque in his home village of Malagi in Gbako Local Government Area of Niger State. These projects, alongside the new Jumaat mosque, electrification and water projects, and a remodeled primary school, were aimed at improving the quality of life in the area.
Idris acknowledged that while the community had high expectations, the plans for development would be executed progressively, one project at a time.
During the commissioning of the multimillion-naira projects, the minister also took the opportunity to promote the policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Despite criticism over the economic hardships some Nigerians have faced due to recent reforms, Idris assured the gathering that the president’s initiatives were carefully designed to lead Nigeria toward lasting prosperity.
