Nasarawa Police Launch Daring Raid, Free Kidnapped Victims and Recover Stolen Cattle
In a well-coordinated operation, operatives from the Nasarawa Police Command successfully raided a kidnappers’ hideout in Karu Local Government Area, rescuing three victims unharmed. Abdulsalam Shuaibu, Sani Shuaibu, and Blessing Okorie had been abducted after their Volkswagen Sharon vehicle was intercepted by armed kidnappers on the Kaduna-Keffi highway.
Upon receiving urgent information about the abduction, SP Zaks Wambai, the Divisional Police Officer for Gitata, quickly mobilized his team and launched a covert search. Their efforts led them to the kidnappers’ hideout, where the operation resulted in the criminals being dislodged, and the victims were safely rescued.
The Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, commended the team for their swift and successful action, urging them to continue the pressure on criminals operating in the region.
In a separate incident, police, military, and vigilante forces worked together to recover 34 stolen cattle in Akwanga Local Government Area. The suspects had attacked a farm, injuring a security guard with a machete before rustling the cattle. A firefight ensued when the criminals were intercepted in Akun Forest, leading to the fatal injury of two suspects and the recovery of the stolen cattle. The injured security guard was also rescued and rushed to the hospital.
