NBA Ikot-Ekpene Chairman Updates On Road Accident During 2023 NBA Conference Return; Four Discharged, One Undergoes Surgery
The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Ikot-Ekpene branch has provided an update on the unfortunate road crash involving members of the branch returning from the recently concluded NBA Annual General Conference in Abuja.
In a telephone interview with online blog, the branch Chairman, Ukpong Okodi disclosed that the incident happened around Enugu when the bus driver lost control of the vehicle supposedly due to brake failure resulting in the vehicle’s somersault.
According to him, seven members of the Association in the bus were admitted at the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu for treatment of various degrees of injuries sustained.
He further noted that of the seven admitted members, four have so far been discharged having responded positively to treatments, one has gone through surgery while two others are scheduled for surgery in the coming days.
The Branch Chairman appreciated well-meaning individuals and organisations for their prayers and concern during these trying times, while also pleading for financial assistance to reduce the burden of the huge financial cost on the branch and families of the victims.
