NBA National Secretariat is Being Used as Campaign Office of Badejo-Okusanya – Akangbe, Akinboro begs NBA Board to Remove Osigwe as NBA President
The National Secretariat of the Nigerian Bar Association has been drawn into the growing electoral controversy following allegations by two presidential aspirants that institutional resources were deployed for campaign purposes.
In their letter to the NBA Board of Trustees, Aare Muyiwa Akinboro, SAN, and Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, alleged that umbrellas and face caps bearing the insignia of Oyinkasola Badejo-Okusanya were distributed across multiple branches with the involvement of National Secretariat staff.
The aspirants described the alleged deployment of Secretariat machinery as a grave abuse of institutional resources funded by members of the Association. They further claimed that certain committees and administrative organs were guided in ways that projected and favoured the same aspirant.
In light of these allegations, they requested the immediate resignation of the NBA President, the reconstitution of the ECNBA with credible safeguards, and the creation of an independent oversight mechanism to restore transparency and neutrality in the electoral process.
