NBA President Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN, Constitutes Caretaker Committee for Orlu Branch, Disbands Electoral Committee

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has taken decisive action to address electoral challenges within the Orlu Branch. In a directive dated June 28, 2025, he disbanded the branch’s Electoral Committee and constituted a Caretaker Committee to oversee branch affairs and organize fresh elections.

The Caretaker Committee, comprising Chris Ikwuoma (Chairman), Jude O. Oduoma (Alternate Chairman), and Mrs. Ngozi Nwosu (Secretary), will manage the branch’s activities for three months, culminating in an Annual General Meeting where new branch officers will be elected in line with the NBA Uniform Bye Laws for Branches.

This decision follows a directive from the NBA Branch Appeal Committee (South East), which ordered the dissolution of the Orlu Branch Electoral Committee due to unresolved issues concerning branch elections. The Caretaker Committee is expected to assume its responsibilities immediately to ensure transparency and proper conduct of the forthcoming elections.
