NEMA rescues 5 persons from Ibadan collapsed building

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has declared that the agency, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, was able to rescue at least five people from the collapsed building in Ibadan.

NEMA made this declaration via a statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday.

Some people lost their lives as a result of the incident that occurred at the Jegede area of Ibadan.

South West Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, Mr Kadiri Olanrewaju, in a reply to DAILY POST enquiry, said that the agency received a distress alert on Thursday.

“With the combined effort of response stakeholders five (5) persons were rescued alive, which include One (1) Adult Male, Two (2) Adult Female and Two (2) Children.

“These victims were carried to Mercyland clinic and maternity center for immediate medical care. Unfortunately, Ten (10) persons lost their lives in the incident.

“One adult victim has been discharged from the hospital, while one victim was unconscious and has been transferred to Adeoyo General Hospital at Temetu, Ibadan,” he stated.
