Niger State Pensioners Urged to Participate in ‘AM ALIVE’ Verification Exercise by January 20

The Niger State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) has called on all pensioners in the state to participate in the ongoing “AM ALIVE” verification exercise organized by the Niger State Pension Board. The Union warned that failure to comply with the verification process could result in severe consequences for the pensioners.

Comrade Abdullahi Baba Sani, the State Secretary of NUP, issued the warning in a statement released in Minna. He stated that all pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS), except those yet to be captured, must visit their bank of choice—preferably the one where they receive their monthly pensions—to complete the capture process before the deadline of January 20, 2025.

Emphasizing the importance of the verification exercise, Sani said, “Failure to be captured could lead to severe consequences.”
