No Mandate to Revive Nigeria Air Deal: Dr. Kana Clears the Air

Dr. Ibrahim Kana, the newly appointed Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has dismissed rumors suggesting that the federal government is planning to revive the controversial ‘Nigeria Air’ deal with Ethiopian Airlines.

Addressing the concerns in a statement, Kana clarified that there has been no mandate to resuscitate the deal after the Federal High Court’s decision in 2024 to nullify the sale of a 49% equity stake in Nigeria Air to Ethiopian Airlines.
