No Obstacle Will Stop Me From Becoming Olubadan – Ladoja
Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, and former Oyo State governor, High Chief Rasidi Ladoja has declared that he will become Olubadan of Ibadanland by the grace of
Ladoja made this declaration yesterday while featuring on Radio Live, a live radio programme in Ibadan. He insisted that no obstacle put against him would prevent him from becoming Olubadan if God wanted him to.
Responding to a question, Ladoja added that he would do what the people of Ibadan want.
According to him, many people become Balogun or Otun Olubadan but do not become Olubadan because those people were not destined to become Olubadan.
“By the grace of God, I will become Olubadan. God has been merciful to me. My blood pressure has been stable.
“Anyone God destined to become Olubadan will become Olubadan. There is no number of obstacles that they may put on the road, if God says someone will become Olubadan, he will become Olubadan
“This thing started during the regime of my younger brother, Abiola Ajimobi, and I won. It has been there since. I know that the Olubadan is supposed to make any amendment, not the governor.
“I will do what the Ibadan people want. God determines everything. We have had many people who became Balogun but did not become Olubadan, and we have had many who became Otun Olubadan but did not become Olubadan. Omiyale and Kuye died ten days ago,” he said.
In a stunning turn of events, Ladoja, has announced his willingness to wear the beaded crown, a symbol of chieftaincy in Ibadanland.
Ladoja’s decision to accept the beaded crown was a reversal of his previous stance, which had led to a prolonged legal battle, revealing that he is now willing to wear the beaded crown, thereby bringing an end to the controversy surrounding the chieftaincy title in Ibadanland.
