Notorious Gang Leader Arrested for Brutal Murder Over Marriage Dispute in FCT
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested notorious gang leader Abubakar Idris, also known as Nishi, and his accomplices in connection with the brutal murder of Ibrahim Danfulani over a disputed marriage proposal.
A statement released on Monday by the FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, revealed that the tragic incident occurred on November 27, 2024. The murder was sparked by Nishi’s frustration over Ibrahim’s intention to marry a woman whom Nishi had reportedly made significant financial investments in. Angered by the development, Nishi and two accomplices set out to eliminate Ibrahim.
A Brutal Attack and Stolen Livestock
Investigations indicated that Nishi and his gang, armed with knives, launched a violent attack on Ibrahim, which ultimately led to his death. In addition to the murder, the gang stole 18 cows belonging to Ibrahim, allegedly as compensation for Nishi’s perceived financial losses due to the marriage dispute.
Dramatic Arrest and Foiled Revenge Plot
In a dramatic twist, after the crime, Nishi fled the scene and went into hiding. However, the police tracked him down to Nasarawa State, where he was arrested while reportedly planning to recruit new gang members for a revenge plot against the woman. His arrest was part of a coordinated effort between the FCT Police Command and the residents of the Agaita community in Karu, who helped bring the suspects to justice.
All suspects are now in police custody and will face prosecution. The police have vowed to ensure that justice is served in the case.
Commitment to Public Safety
The FCT Police Command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of residents, urging the public to report any suspicious activities or criminal elements to the nearest police station or through the command’s emergency lines.
