NSCDC personnel open fire on students in Abuja

Three personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been reportedly arrested for allegedly shooting two students of Senior Secondary School Life Camp, Abuja.

The personnel were said to have been drafted to the school for the ongoing SSCE external examination.

It is unclear what led to the shooting but the affected students are said to be receiving treatment at the Gwarinpa Hospital, Abuja.

Following the shooting, some students allegedly vandalised three patrol vehicles belonging to the NSCDC in protest.

Josephine Adeh, FCT police spokeswoman, confirmed the incident, but said police had restored peace to the affected area.

She said the CP , Haruna Garba, had ordered investigation into the incident.
