NSHA summons AEDC, NaEPA over persistent power blackout, outrageous bills

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, NSHA, has summoned the Area Manager of the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, and the General Manager of the Nasarawa Electricity Power Agency, NaEPA, to appear before the House on April 30th, 2024.

The summon comes in response to complaints of persistent power blackout and excessive billing of customers across the state.

The Speaker of the House, Danladi Jatau, announced the summon after Solomon Akwashiki, representing Lafia Central, raised the issue during the House proceedings.

He stated that the purpose of the invitation is to seek explanations for the ongoing challenges with power supply and billing discrepancies affecting residents.

“The House wants to know why there is epileptic power supply and overbilling of customers across the state,” Jatau stated.
