“NYSC Corps Members to Receive N77,000 Monthly Allowance Starting February 2025”
The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has confirmed that starting February 2025, corps members will receive a significant increase in their monthly allowance to N77,000. This announcement came during a speech to the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream II corps members in Katsina on Thursday.
Ahmed explained that the allowance increase has been factored into the 2025 Federal Government budget and will take effect once the budget is approved. “This month (January) has already ended, but once the budget is passed, by next month (February), you will start receiving N77,000 instead of the usual N33,000,” he said.
The NYSC Director-General reassured corps members that the government remains committed to their welfare and security, and he encouraged them to serve with diligence in return for the increased support. He also emphasized the NYSC’s commitment to the safety of corps members, assuring them that they would not be posted to areas with security threats. “We will not send our corps members to areas with security challenges. Wherever we send them, they can be assured that the place is safe and secured for them to serve,” he affirmed.
This increase in allowance marks a significant step in improving the conditions for corps members across the country.
