NYSC Urges Prospective Corps Members to Ignore False Call-Up Instructions
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has dismissed as misleading the circulating reports that Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) who have not yet received their Call-Up Numbers should visit the Scheme’s State Secretariats. The NYSC has clarified that such information did not originate from the official channels of the Scheme.
In a statement issued by the Acting Director of Information & Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the NYSC emphasized that all official communications with PCMs are carried out through their individual dashboards or the approved social media platforms of the Scheme.
“For clarity, all Prospective Corps Members who are yet to receive their Call-Up Numbers should remain patient, regularly check their dashboards, and follow the official NYSC social media pages on platforms like Facebook, X, Instagram, and Thread for updates,” the statement read.
This clarification follows recent misinformation surrounding a supposed query issued to approximately 200 corps members, which the NYSC had already debunked. The false report claimed that these corps members had been queried for failing to participate in a Christmas Carol, a story that the Scheme also rejected as misleading.
The NYSC has urged the public to disregard such rumors and adhere to official channels for accurate information.
