Oluremi Tinubu gives 1000 Abia petty traders N50k each
The wife of the President, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, has distributed financial grants to 1,000 women who are petty traders in Abia State to assist them in growing their businesses and contributing to the national economy.
The financial aid, which was made through the Renewed Hope Initiative Economic Empowerment Programme of the Wife of the President, is part of the commitment of the office of the First Lady to drive economic growth towards a better life for Nigerian families, according to Mrs Tinubu.
Oluremi Tinubu, who was represented by the wife of the Chief of Staff to the President, Salamantu Gbajabiamila, highlighted the challenges being experienced by small and medium enterprises but saluted the courage and resilience of women to put food on the table for their families.
The president’s wife disclosed that the 1,000 pre-selected women petty traders per state will receive N50,000 each to recapitalise and grow their businesses.
On her part, the wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs Priscilla Otti, noted that the financial aid will help them not only to sustain their families but also to contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of their communities.
In his goodwill message, Governor Alex Otti, represented by his deputy, Ikechukwu Emetu, described women petty traders as “the unsung heroes of our markets, driving commerce and supporting families with their entrepreneurial spirits.”
The governor, while thanking the wife of the president, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, for making the grants available, encouraged the beneficiaries to utilise the resources to improve their businesses and inspire others through their success.
