Ondo Guber: Why we dumped APC, Odigbo leaders

Ahead of the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State, approximately 5,000 All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders from Odigbo council area have defected to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Spokesperson Alhaji Yusuf Abdulateef cited APC’s “bad governance” in Ondo State and Nigeria, leading to hunger, poverty, and expensive petrol, as reasons for their departure.

“We rejected APC’s offer to stay because we prioritize the masses, who are suffering under their governance,” Abdulateef said. “We believe Agboola Ajayi has the experience and credentials to redirect Ondo State to prosperity.”

The defectors, including the Iya Ikale group led by Mrs. Akinmoye, were welcomed by Ondo PDP Campaign Council Chairman, Dr. Eddy Olafeso, who promised that PDP would meet their expectations.

Notable PDP leaders present included Agboola Alfred Ajayi, Rt. Hon. Bakita Bello, Hon. Clement Faboyede, and Engr. Ademulegun.

In a related development, APC members from Ajue have also decamped to PDP, received by Hon. Clement Faboyede, who encouraged them to remain steadfast and earn rewards within the party.”
