The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has lauded Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s landslide victory in the recent Ondo State gubernatorial election, attributing the outcome to overwhelming grassroots support. Speaking at the APC national secretariat in Abuja, Ganduje dismissed allegations of external influence, including interference from the presidency.
“The victory is purely the will of the Ondo people. It reflects the collective efforts of the elites, the middle class, and the grassroots,” Ganduje said. With the APC securing 202 out of 203 wards in the state, he emphasized that the result highlighted the party’s widespread acceptance.
He urged Aiyedatiwa to build on the legacy of his late predecessor, Rotimi Akeredolu, by ensuring even distribution of developmental projects across Ondo’s 18 local government areas. Ganduje also cautioned against abandoning ongoing projects, stressing the importance of maintaining continuity in governance.
Expressing gratitude, Governor Aiyedatiwa attributed his victory to the trust and support of Ondo residents. “The people of Ondo voted for integrity, continuity, and good leadership,” he remarked, pledging to honor their confidence through progressive governance.
Ganduje concluded by affirming that Ondo’s electorate is deeply rooted in progressive values, which he believes will ensure continued cooperation with the governor in advancing the state.
