“Onyeka Nwafor’s Bold Plan: Using Force to Tackle Anambra’s Insecurity”

Onyeka Young Nwafor, a governorship aspirant for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State, has promised to take a tough stance on the state’s growing insecurity if elected. Nwafor, who claims the current administration under Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has failed to adequately address the problem, believes a more forceful approach is necessary.

Speaking on Arise TV on January 23, 2025, Nwafor expressed his willingness to support the release of Nnamdi Kanu if it could pave the way for peace in the Southeast. He emphasized that the region’s businesses are suffering, and the resolution of ongoing tensions could restore stability.

Addressing the ongoing sit-at-home orders that have crippled businesses in Anambra, Nwafor promised his government would engage in direct dialogue with those behind the enforcement of the weekly closures. He acknowledged that while dialogue would be the first step, if these efforts failed, his administration would not hesitate to use force.

“If discussions fail, I will deploy security forces to identify and arrest those responsible,” Nwafor declared. “The people behind this are not ghosts—they are human beings, and we will find out who they are.”

Nwafor also made it clear that his approach would involve collaboration with all stakeholders, including traditional rulers, to end the sit-at-home crisis and restore order to the state.
