Operation Fansan Yamma Commander, Major General Soyele, Vows to Eliminate Lakurawa Terrorists on Nigeria-Niger Border
The Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, Major General Oluyinka Soyele, has reaffirmed the troops’ readiness to confront and eliminate the Lakurawa terrorist group operating along the Nigeria-Niger border.
During an operational visit to the tactical headquarters of the Defense Headquarters Special Operations Brigade in Balle, Gudu Local Government Area, Sokoto State, on Friday, Soyele highlighted the importance of the ongoing Operation Flush Lakurawa Out.
In his address to the troops, Soyele stressed the non-negotiable need to safeguard Nigeria’s territorial integrity. He underscored the pivotal role of vigilance and commitment in dismantling the influence of the terrorist group, which has been a major security threat to border communities.
The Theatre Commander also appealed to local communities, emphasizing the crucial role their support plays in the success of military operations. He called on residents to actively cooperate with the security forces in the fight against terrorism.
“Local support and intelligence sharing are vital to ensuring operational success and establishing long-term peace,” Soyele said. “A strong partnership between the military and the community will create a united front against terrorism.”
Soyele’s visit and remarks reaffirm the ongoing efforts of Operation Fansan Yamma to secure the border region, restore peace, and protect the affected communities from further violence.
