Oshiomhole Hails Okpebholo for Groundbreaking Start to Governance in Edo
Former Edo State Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, has lauded Governor Monday Okpebholo for his remarkable performance in his first month in office, stating that Okpebholo’s actions have set a new standard in governance for the state. Oshiomhole made the comments during an interview with journalists at his residence in Iyamho, Etsako West Local Government Area.
Oshiomhole expressed great satisfaction with Okpebholo’s proactive approach, noting that the Governor wasted no time in making key appointments and taking decisive actions to address pressing issues in Edo. “For the first time in Edo’s history, we have a governor who began making appointments immediately upon assuming office,” Oshiomhole remarked. “Every moment counts, and Okpebholo has shown us that governance doesn’t wait.”
Highlighting the Governor’s focus on critical sectors such as justice, health, and education, Oshiomhole emphasized Okpebholo’s quick moves to ensure these areas received immediate attention. “The Governor understands the importance of basic education, and he isn’t waiting for a moment to address it. His swift appointments in sectors like justice and SUBEB (State Universal Basic Education Board) show his commitment to solving long-standing issues.”
The former Governor also commended Okpebholo for his efforts in kick-starting infrastructural development, pointing out that the Governor has already had a visible impact on the state. “Edo people can feel the difference already. Contractors are back at work, and Okpebholo is tackling key issues that will bring tangible improvements to the state’s infrastructure.”
Oshiomhole also praised the new Governor for addressing the financial mismanagement of previous administrations. “There is a clear shift in how funds are being managed. Okpebholo is stopping the unnecessary expenditures and ensuring that resources are directed towards real development.”
