Peter Obi questions Tinubu’s whereabouts as 14 days leave elapse

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the last election, Peter Obi has expressed dismay over President Bola Tinubu’s absence from the country amid the economic and other challenges facing the nation.

Tinubu departed Nigeriaon October 2, for a two-week working vacation in the United Kingdom, UK, as part of his annual leave.

Reports also emerged recently that the president left the UK for Paris, France where he was expected to attend an “important engagement” after spending over a week in the UK.

Two weeks after his departure from the country, Obi in a statement on Friday, wondered why the president is not back.

“The President had told us he would only be gone for 14 days. The 14 days have passed now, and we are waiting to see him in the country.

“One would have expected him to return earlier than expected, considering the volume of work that needs to be done in a troubled nation like ours.

“The untold hardship that has been unleashed on our people as a result of some of his administration’s policies is unimaginable and we need his urgent attention to pilot the nation out of this present situation”, he said.
