“President Tinubu Calls for Dialogue, Unity at Kogi Dialogue Event”
President Bola Tinubu has called on leaders at all levels to build bridges of unity and prioritize dialogue as a tool for resolving differences and promoting national cohesion.
Speaking through Vice-President Kashim Shettima on Monday at the Kogi Dialogue, an event marking Governor Ahmed Ododo’s one-year anniversary in office, the president emphasized the importance of dialogue as the true path to justice, reconciliation, and understanding.
“Dialogue is not just an opportunity to air grievances. It is the true path to justice, reconciliation, and understanding. Without dialogue, history will pass us by, leaving us abandoned by time and forgotten by progress,” President Tinubu said.
He commended Governor Ododo for initiating the dialogue, calling it “a spark of wisdom and a critical step toward fostering reconciliation and progress.”
Tinubu reiterated that unity is the only formula for national progress, using the confluence of the River Niger and River Benue in Lokoja as a metaphor for the collective strength needed to navigate Nigeria’s challenges. He urged political and community leaders to support the government in creating the necessary environment for growth.
Despite the economic pressures and security challenges facing the nation, President Tinubu stressed that true leadership is tested during turbulent times. He called on Nigerians, particularly the people of Kogi, to view themselves as “threads in the intricate fabric of progress.”
Governor Ododo also urged Kogi residents to stay committed to the state’s growth, leveraging available resources and opportunities for the betterment of all.
