President Tinubu Signs North-Central Development Commission Bill into Law

In a landmark development, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has signed the bill establishing the North-Central Development Commission (NCDC) into law. The announcement was made on Tuesday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a session in the Senate chamber.

Expressing optimism about the potential impact of the law, Akpabio highlighted that the establishment of the NCDC would serve as a catalyst for development at the grassroots level in the North-Central region.

He said, “Let me also inform my colleagues that Mr. President has also assented to the North-Central Development Commission establishment bill 2024, to bring development to the grassroots. And for this, we congratulate the good people of the North-Central region of Nigeria, and we wish them more development and particularly peace, as we forge ahead in the task of nation-building.”

This new commission is expected to play a pivotal role in driving regional progress, fostering unity, and ensuring that the North-Central region receives the attention and resources needed for sustained growth.
