Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a warning about an impending power struggle between Vice President Kashim Shettima and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. According to Ayodele, the growing tensions between the two could see Shettima losing his position to Ribadu.
In a recent address to journalists in Lagos, the clergyman also claimed that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s political aspirations are doomed to fail. He cautioned Atiku that former president Olusegun Obasanjo would never forgive him for past actions, which the prophet believes will lead to Atiku’s downfall.
Primate Ayodele downplayed the political influence of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, and his Kano counterpart, Rabiu Kwankwaso, noting that neither of them would significantly affect the political landscape. He also warned that a Northern agenda may attempt to divide President Bola Tinubu’s administration, but assured that Tinubu has strong support and the capability to overcome these challenges.
The clergyman expressed strong beliefs about regional politics, predicting failure for anyone who opposes Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, claiming they are protected from political challenges. He also urged Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to stay vigilant, warning that opponents are plotting against him.
Regarding Shettima, Ayodele warned that the Vice President needs to be cautious or risk Ribadu stepping into his role. He described Shettima as “sleeping,” implying that he is not aware of the political threats looming around him.
On the subject of Atiku, the prophet declared his vision a failure, criticizing the former VP for seeking reconciliation with Obasanjo, whom Ayodele believes will never forgive him. He encouraged Atiku to stop “doing that mumu” and consider empowering more vibrant leaders to take the reins. He also noted that many politicians, including Bukola Saraki, Goodluck Jonathan, and Peter Obi, lack the stamina to make significant moves in the current political environment.
