A newly promoted Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Mustapha has recently assumed his position as AIG and been deployed to Zone 6 in Calabar. Meanwhile, AIG Bala officially handed over his duties as the Commissioner of Police (CP) in Rivers State to Olugbenga Adewole during a brief ceremony at the Police Officers’ Mess in Port Harcourt.
In his remarks, AIG Bala expressed gratitude to the officers and residents of Rivers State for their support during his three-month tenure as CP. He highlighted several accomplishments during his administration, which included successful crime fighting, peacekeeping, and human and infrastructural developments within the state.
At the handover, newly deployed CP Olugbenga Adewole addressed the media, promising that his leadership would focus on enhancing security for citizens and businesses across Rivers State. Adewole outlined key priorities for his tenure, including strengthening intelligence gathering, improving community policing and public engagement, tackling corruption, addressing cultism and youth violence, and combating oil theft.
CP Adewole, the 47th commissioner of police in the state, thanked the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun and the Police Service Commission for trusting him with the leadership of the command. He emphasized that his administration would be driven by integrity and collaboration with relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety and well-being of Rivers State.
