Shehu Gabam, the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has raised concerns about the future of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, suggesting that he may not survive until 2027. Gabam pointed out that presidents who faced significant challenges within their first two years rarely completed a second term, citing the example of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
During his appearance on Channels Television’s “Politics Today” program, Gabam noted that Jonathan’s opposition began in his second year, which ultimately led to his electoral defeat. Gabam expressed the belief that no president facing such early opposition would be able to endure a full four-year term.
In addition to political opposition, Gabam also criticized the current administration’s cabinet, claiming that the ministers lack the capacity to effectively implement President Tinubu’s vision. He further emphasized that Nigeria is grappling with unprecedented economic challenges under the current government, which may exacerbate the president’s difficulties in maintaining control.
