Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Reveals Faceoffs with Senate President Over Love Advances
naThe Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has disclosed the reasons behind her repeated confrontations with Senate President, Godswill Akpabio. According to her, the tension arose after she rejected advances made by Akpabio.
Appearing on Arise News Channel’s breakfast show, The Morning Show, on Friday, Senator Natasha, who is married to a Delta State-born billionaire businessman, revealed that the conflict began in December 2023 during an official visit to Akpabio’s home state of Akwa Ibom. She alleged that, during this visit, Akpabio invited her and her husband to tour his private residence in Uyo, the state capital.
While touring the expansive house, Natasha claimed that Akpabio suggested that they could create a private space for themselves to “have fun.” This, according to her, marked the beginning of the growing tension between them.
She also recounted a separate incident in the Senate when she sought to raise a motion regarding the Ajaokuta Steel Complex, located in her senatorial district. Natasha alleged that Akpabio obstructed her motion, and later told her privately that she would only succeed in pushing the motion if she agreed to “play ball” with him.
Additionally, Natasha recalled a comment from Akpabio on the Senate floor, where he warned her to behave herself, remarking that the Senate was not a “nightclub.” She believes this remark was not a slip of the tongue, citing earlier conversations where Akpabio had mentioned the idea of having “nightclub” fun together.
In another disturbing revelation, Senator Natasha accused the Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, of threatening her at midnight over the faceoff with Akpabio. She claimed that Bamidele warned her that if Akpabio were to fall, she would face similar consequences.
This ongoing conflict between Natasha and Akpabio has escalated recently, leading to a dramatic confrontation in the Senate over seating arrangements. The Senate, in response, referred the matter to its Ethics and Public Petition Committee for investigation.
Senator Natasha, undeterred, continues to push for transparency and accountability, even in the face of what she describes as intimidation and undue influence from the Senate leadership.
