Residents of the South East region, have ignored Monday’s sit-at-home order of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, as they were seen trooping into Imo state to participate in the second term inauguration of the Imo state governor, Hope Uzodimma.
On Monday, the inauguration ceremony is ongoing at the Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri.
It was gathered that usually it’s always empty and scanty on Monday’s because of the IPOB sit-at-home order, on the highways, especially the road leading to Imo state from Owerri- Mbaise, Owerri- Onitsha, Owerri- Aba and Owerri – Okigwe roads.
But for Uzodimma’s inauguration saw an increase in vehicular movements on the express roads linking other states of the South East region, as residents across the areas were seen arriving the state to take part in the second term inauguration of the Imo state governor.
Participants from Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Abia were seen in their busses driving into Imo state for the governor’s inauguration.
However, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, and former National Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole, are already in town.
Its expected that President Bola Tinubu, Governors and members of the National Assembly will be in Owerri for the governor’s inauguration.
