“Sowore Responds to Police Manhunt: ‘I’m Ready for Arrest’”
The Nigeria Police Force has reportedly launched a manhunt for prominent activist and politician Omoyele Sowore following the release of a viral video he posted on social media.
Sowore, who was a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), shared a video capturing a confrontation between himself and officers stationed along the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Access Road in Lagos. In the video, Sowore is seen urging the police officers to stop causing traffic congestion on the busy airport road.
In a post on his official X handle late Wednesday night, Sowore claimed that the police are currently searching for him. Despite the manhunt, he expressed his readiness for arrest, revealing that he is presently in Abuja and available for questioning at the authorities’ convenience.
His post read: “I have been informed that the Nigeria Police Force is searching for me. I am currently in Abuja and available at their convenience. It appears that the new year is about to start on a positive note! #RevolutionNow”.
