Suspected Cultist ‘Black Jesus’ Arrested for Attacking Neighbor and Setting Fire in Ogun
Operatives from the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a suspected cultist, Peter Falola, also known as ‘Black Jesus,’ for allegedly assaulting a resident and causing extensive property damage in the Agbado area of the state.
The suspect is accused of invading the home of one Oladipupo Adeniran, where he reportedly made violent threats and assaulted the victim. According to the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, Falola struck Adeniran on the head with a broken bottle.
Following the assault, neighbors rushed Adeniran to the hospital for medical treatment, but the situation escalated as Falola allegedly set fire to the victim’s apartment. The blaze caused damages estimated at over N1.4 million, destroying numerous items, including a 6kg gas cylinder, a ceiling fan, an Itel Android phone, a set of chairs, and eight aluminium windows. The ceilings in both the sitting room and bedroom were also severely damaged.
Odutola confirmed that the attack occurred on January 20, 2025, and that the suspect was swiftly arrested following a report filed at the Agbado Police Station. Investigators have already visited the crime scene to gather evidence.
The suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Abeokuta for further investigation. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
