Tinubu Signs Bill to Establish Federal University of Environmental Technology in Ogoni
President Bola Tinubu has officially signed into law the bill establishing the Federal University of Environmental Technology in Ogoni, Rivers State. The announcement was made by Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination, via his X handle on Monday, marking another milestone in the administration’s commitment to promoting inclusive national progress.
The creation of the university is part of President Tinubu’s broader ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda, which focuses on addressing historical disparities and fostering balanced development across Nigeria. The new institution aims to enhance educational opportunities in underrepresented regions and contribute to sustainable growth.
Bwala reminded the public that this development aligns with similar efforts, noting that President Tinubu had recently approved the establishment of another federal university in the Southern Kaduna district of Kaduna State. This initiative reflects the administration’s dedication to bridging gaps and ensuring that every part of the country benefits from progress.
In his statement, Bwala emphasized the president’s belief in Nigeria’s unity and his commitment to transcending ethnic or regional divides. He quoted the national anthem’s powerful message of unity, which states, “though tribe and tongue may differ, in brotherhood, we stand.” According to Bwala, President Tinubu sees no ethnic minority in Nigeria, reinforcing his vision of a united nation focused on collective advancement.
